**Written by Doug Powers Some of these exploratory committee guys really take their jobs seriously : ANKENY, Iowa — A 15-year-old girl found a campaign worker from Alabama banging on her Ankeny family’s back door early Wednesday morning. Chloe Steward told KCCI she heard her dog barking around 3 a.m. and went to investigate. She said she found a man trying to get into the back door. “His arm was in my back door, trying to get in and I screamed and went upstairs to my parents room and I continued screaming,” said Chloe Steward. The family then called police. Police said Benjamin Foster was arrested and charged with public intoxication and trespassing. He was taken to the Polk County Jail. Iowa political strategist Eric Woolson is a consultant for the Pawlenty Exploratory Committee. He confirmed to KCCI that Foster is employed by the Pawlenty Exploratory Committee. He declined comment at this time on the incident. Hillary had the “3 a.m. phone call” campaign commercial, but I doubt Pawlenty will produce a “3 a.m. drunk guy trying to get in the back door” ad. All the commotion nearly woke up an Alvin Greene for President exploratory committee worker named Alvin Greene who was sleeping in the family’s garage. **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

Alvin Greene Falls Just a Wee Bit Short Again

Better luck next time , Alvin: “Surprise candidate Alvin Greene was soundly defeated in his second bid for elective office on Tuesday. He captured only 37 votes or just about .01% of the 3,892 cast in a Democratic primary to fill a state legislature seat to cover an area including his hometown of Manning, South Carolina.” The good news is, this leaves him more time to devote to his 2012 presidential bid. Over the weekend, one of the big rumors is the possibility of a 2012 bid from Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican : Aides to U.S. Rep.

The “Rent Is Too [Darn] High” guy , who briefly added some humor to the 2010 New York governor's race, is talking about challenging President Obama in 2012. He would join former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel in the Gadfly Primary. UPDATE: Alvin Greene, of course, with his action-figure based economic plan , would be running to Obama's right. Jim Geraghty

‘The American People’ Are More Complicated Than One Midterm Election

We will know whether this poll is on the mark in a matter of days, but Quinnipiac's latest results in Florida seem a little odd to me: In the Florida U.S. Senate race, Republican Marco Rubio leads Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running as an independent, 42 – 35 percent among likely voters, while Democratic U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek gets 15 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. In the hotly-contested governor’s race, State Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, the Democrat, has 45 percent to 41 percent for Republican Rick Scott, the independent Quinnipiac University survey, conducted by live interviewers, finds.

During a live broadcast report from the South Carolina state fairgrounds, one reporter unknowingly gave an exclusive look at Alvin Greene, the Democrat challenging incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint. In the video clip , the Senatorial candidate can be seen in a green hat and green t-shirt, standing over the newsman’s left shoulder waving and making rabbit ears: The latest polls show a steep uphill climb for Greene, who currently trails Sen. DeMint by about 45 points. An unemployed veteran, Greene stunned his own party when he secured their nomination earlier this year. Last week, the Democrat’s attorney brushed off questions about Greene’s pending felony charges alleges he showed a teenage college student online pornography on a campus computer lab last year. According to Greene’s attorney, it was only trying to “flirt” with the girl. “He was attempting to flirt with a young lady who had no interest in him,” Eleazer Carter told The Associated Press. “While the charges are very serious, I think it boils down to, when a lady turns you down, has it reached a criminal offense?”
