Barbara Boxer: Climate Deniers Endangering Humankind
**Written by Doug Powers If the world doesn’t stop doubting Al Gore and quickly “green” itself at the bargain price of around $76 trillion , human beings could be extinct. That according to Senator Barbara “don’t call me ‘ma’am’” Boxer. From The Hill : Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) blasted skeptics of climate science Wednesday, alleging they are “endangering humankind.” “The message I have for climate deniers is this: you are endangering humankind,” Boxer said during a press conference in the Capitol. “It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world’s leading scientists agree.” Boxer criticized skeptics of climate science, alleging they are standing in the way of significant progress toward lowering greenhouse gas emissions both domestically and internationally. Did the Senator who has an A+ rating from NARAL just accuse those who refuse to chug from Al Gore’s global warming Kool-Aid bong of being a threat the lives of human beings? What most worries Boxer about global warming skeptics isn’t that they’re endangering humankind, but rather a grave threat to the circle of crony life in the age of “green” venture socialism. **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

The Latest Obama Cabinet Member with a Tax Problem: Eric Holder
**Written by Doug Powers If President Obama is serious about tax increases (sorry, I meant to say “spending reductions in the tax code” ) and increasing overall tax revenue, he should start by first calling a cabinet meeting and ordering everybody in the room to pony up what they owe. From the New York Post by way of JWF : US Attorney General Eric Holder and his brother failed to pay the property taxes on their childhood home in Queens, which they inherited last August after their mother died, The Post has learned. And because their ailing mom, Miriam, was already behind on two quarterly tax bills when she succumbed to illness on Aug. 13, the charges went unpaid for more than a year — growing to $4,146. It wasn’t until The Post confronted Holder last week about the delinquency that he and younger brother William Holder finally paid up Friday, including $73.14 in interest. There are plenty of ways to lead in Washington, but “by example” is usually the least desirable option. But It’s possible Holder was completely unaware, although you might expect a US Attorney General to at least be inquisitive about the tax obligations in something he inherited a while ago, even considering the unfortunate circumstances. Is “the New York Post didn’t inform me” (or in some cases Turbo Tax or the USA Today ) now an acceptable excuse for failing to pay taxes on time? In language that might make Barbara Boxer care about things like this a little more, by not paying their fair share, Obama’s tax-lax cabinet members along with some of ma’am’s delinquent liberal colleagues in Congress could be doing untold long-term damage to Planned Parenthood. **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

Barbara Boxer: Republicans Have a Vendetta Against Elmo
**Written by Doug Powers At least “she who shall remain ma’am-less” hasn’t accused Republicans of “Muppet genocide,” but maybe Barbara’s saving that one for tomorrow’s speech : Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that House Republicans want to strip government funding of PBS because they have a “vendetta against Elmo.” Boxer said that the cost of four hours of the Iraq war would be enough to keep PBS funded — and the popular fire-red children’s character on the air. Forget four hours of the the Iraq war — the cost of four of Barbara Boxer’s earmarks would be enough to keep PBS funded. How many puppets, muppets, guys in big yellow bird suits, cartoon aardvarks and other non-human shields can assorted congressional Democrats barricade themselves behind to save PBS funding? I guess we’ll find out soon enough, but it sure isn’t easy telling them apart anymore. **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

I sleep in my office, too.
Ok, ok. I work from home so it’s not entirely like many members of Congress who are under fire for sleeping in their offices, but I still sympathize. The latest complaints are from Sen. Barbara Boxer: I’m also reminded of how MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell accused Rep. Jason Chaffetz of being a “tax criminal” for sleeping in his office and not reporting it to the IRS. Here are some questions — and Senator Ma’am and Mr. O’Donnell should be feel free to chime in with their answers: How much are union protesters being asked to pay to unfurl their sleeping bags in the rotunda of Wisconsin’s state capitol? Are you expecting them to report the “free lodging” on their taxes, too?

The States Were Blue, but the Results Leave Us Bluer
PoliPundit offers a useful analysis of why the House went overwhelmingly for the GOP but Senate gains lagged: The House races were largely fought on Republican-leaning turf, but the key Senate fights were in deep-blue states. That's true, as far as it goes. But these were, by and large, unpopular incumbent Democrats, often with job-approval ratings in the 40s and disapproval above 50. Barbara Boxer's job approval is pretty miserable , underwater by a considerable margin. Harry Reid's is even worse . Ditto for Michael Bennet in Colorado. Patty Murray was underwater, too . And clearly, Republican wins in blue states were quite possible this year; look at Pat Toomey, Ron Johnson, and Mark Kirk. Jim Geraghty

Babs Boxer tries to recruit kiddie campaigners in L.A. public schools
Photo credit: Leo Alberti The Boxer for Senate campaign in California is brazenly recruiting public school students through the teachers’ union. Jon Coupal at FlashReport has the scoop and a copy of the solicitation: Today the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association notified the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles Board of Education today that, in abject ignorance of California state law, the political campaign of Senator Barbara Boxer has openly solicited teachers employed by LAUSD to urge their students to volunteer for her campaign. HJTA’s letter to the school district urges LAUSD to immediately inform all its personnel, credentialed or otherwise, that it would be a clear violation of law for teachers to recruit their students on school property during school hours to volunteer for a specific political campaign. Pursuant to both case law and a specific provision of the California Education Code, what Boxer wants would leave LAUSD subject to both civil and potentially criminal sanctions. Common sense should also tell her that seeking public resources and classroom time from teachers to do her political bidding is just wrong. Barbara Boxer should know better. Make sure to read the letter, which promises students “extra credit” and credit for fulfilling “class volunteer hours” — and recommends that government and social studies teachers share this video with their students: This comes on the heels of educators in Ohio using students as Democrat voting guinea pigs — and a long history of the Left using your children as their junior lobbyists. What did your kids do in school today? Ask them. *** Question: What happens if the children call her “ma’am?”

Fiorina Within Two in Rasmussen’s New California Senate Poll
It’s neck-and-neck, ” Election 2010: California Senate “: California’s U.S. Senate race between Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer and Republican challenger Carly Fiorina remains a virtual tie with less than two weeks to go until Election Day. The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Boxer picking up 48% of the vote, while Fiorina draws support from 46%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.) The race remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. Last week, Boxer led Fiorina 49% to 46%. Boxer was reeelected with 58% of the vote in 2004, but despite California’s strong Democratic tendencies, this race has been close all year. The incumbent, who is seeking her fourth six-year term, has held a small lead in every survey but one since February with 42% to 49% of the vote. Fiorina, a former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, has earned 38% to 47% support in those same surveys.
