Gadhafi wore a wig

On October 22, 2011, in Uncategorized, by

In an unforeseen development on par with Zachary Quinto ‘s coming out, the Washington Post reports Moammar Gadhafi was wearing a wig at the time he was killed. Those Shirley Temple curls weren’t his after all. The news came out when Libyan officials tested Qaddafi’s DNA to be sure that it was in fact him. They used his blood and saliva, but when they tried a hair, they saw it wasn’t his. A rude awakening. h/t Styleite

Gilad Shalit and the Price Freedom in Israel

On October 14, 2011, in Uncategorized, by moshesharon

More on the Shalit release, from Caroline Glick, at Jerusalem Post , ” A pact signed in Jewish blood “: “The deal that Netanyahu has agreed to is signed with the blood of the past victims and future victims of the terrorists he is letting go. No amount of rationalization by Netanyahu, his cheerleaders in the demented mass media, and by the defeatist, apparently incompetent heads of the Shin Bet, Mossad and IDF can dent the facts.” RELATED : At Legal Insurrection , ” “What happens after the next soldier is kidnapped?” ”

The latest drivel from liberal columnist Paul Krugman was apparently the straw that broke the camel’s back for former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld who tweeted this morning: If you’re curious to see what nonsense Krugman has been up to lately, click here . ( Warning: It WILL raise your blood pressure.) And if I may be so bold, I’d humbly suggest Mr. Rumsfeld consider a new kind of media subscription …

Deadly repercussions have continued to accompany growing medical marijuana use in California. The Los Angeles Times reports on statistics showing the surging number of car accidents involving high drivers over the last decade, which local law enforcement attribute to the growing number of medical marijuana users: “The most recent assessment by the  National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , based on random roadside checks, found that 16.3% of all drivers nationwide at night were on various legal and illegal impairing drugs, half them high on marijuana. In California alone, nearly 1,000 deaths and injuries each year are blamed directly on drugged drivers, according to CHP data, and law enforcement puts much of the blame on the rapid growth of medical marijuana use in the last decade. Fatalities in crashes where drugs were the primary cause and alcohol was not involved jumped 55% over the 10 years ending in 2009.” While President Obama has gone from a hands-off approach to now  pushing federal prosecution of anyone in the business of growing or supplying marijuana for medical patients, the medical marijuana movement continues to pick speed as now one third of all states allow such sales. The growing legality of medical marijuana seems mind-boggling considering most states don’t even have a formal standard on the amount of the drug drivers should, if at all, be allowed to have in their blood. “While 13 states have adopted zero-tolerance laws, 35 states including California have no formal standard, and instead rely on the judgment of police to determine impairment. Even the most cautious approach of zero tolerance is fraught with complex medical issues about whether residual low levels of marijuana can impair a driver days after the drug is smoked. Marijuana advocates say some state and federal officials are trying to make it impossible for individuals to use marijuana and drive legally for days or weeks afterward.” The call for a standardized system to judge impairment is debated by national leaders in law enforcement, as some feel the current system works well to identify impaired drivers, and any future legal limit or medical test would not bring about major change. However federal officials and local prosecutors argue that the lack of a standard makes convictions harder to obtain. “In October, a San Diego jury acquitted Terry Barraclough, a 60-year-old technical writer and medical marijuana user, on manslaughter charges in a fatal crash that occurred shortly after he had smoked marijuana. A blood test showed he had high levels of active marijuana ingredients in his blood, but the jury heard conflicting expert testimony from toxicologists about the possible effects. Martin Doyle, the deputy district attorney who prosecuted Barraclough, said the acquittal showed that the lack of a formal legal limit on marijuana intoxication makes such prosecutions tough.” Over  500,000 Americans currently use legal medical marijuana. Do you want to share the road with any of them?

I saw this first at William Jacobson’s, ” Fogel Family Murderers Captured .” Also at Joshua Pundit, ” Fogel Family’s ‘Palestinian’ Murderers And Their Accomplices Arrested ,” and Uncoverage, ” Two Palestinian Teenagers Arrested for Murders of Israeli Family of Five .” And see John Hayward, at Human Events , ” West Bank Killers Captured “: The murder of the Fogel family was an invisible atrocity, reported in very muted tones by the global media despite (or, more accurately, because of) its lurid savagery. Udi and Ruth Fogel were a young couple with sons Yoav and Elad, aged 11 and 4, plus a three-month-old baby daughter named Hadas. They were “settlers,” which means “people who live in parts of Israel where terrorists say Jews are forbidden to live.” The family was slaughtered with guns and knives. Their 12-year-old daughter Tamar was away from the house on the night of the massacre … Today is the beginning of Passover, when Jews remember the night when the Angel of Death walked the streets of Egypt, passing over Jewish homes, which had been marked with the blood of lambs. The Angel of Death has been making up for lost time with the Jews ever since. These days, the blood of lambs flows from the open veins of children. The “civilized” world finds many excuses to ignore their murders, and grows colder in the process.

Reason for Cautious Optimism in Pennsylvania

On October 26, 2010, in Uncategorized, by If Bush Did It

In yesterday's Jolt, I told folks not to let their blood pressure rise as they watch tracking polls like the Morning Call's ones in Pennsylvania. As Obi-Wan notes, in the short term, polls go up a bit, they go down a bit, like the stock market averages. The gradual trend is the more important than each day's shift of a few percentage points back and forth. Well, the tracking poll does seem to be showing a trend:

Morning News Updates

On August 26, 2010, in barack obama, Uncategorized, by If Bush Did It

Don’t miss Melissa Clouthier’s morning roundup, ” A Round-Up of News to Make Your Blood Boil “: … for some reason, this story irritates me the worst. The moderates, independents, libertarians, RINOs, and trend-followers (but I repeat myself) who voted for Barack Obama are wiggling around like live bugs pinned to card-board. The latest entre is from someone I respect, but her latest post is really hard to take. Megan McArdle absolves President Obama saying, essentially, that there’s nothing he can do or could have done to help the economy. Au contraire. Nothing is something he could have done and would have better than what he did do. Instead, the great meddler, the Man Who Knows Everything, well, he’s made everything worse. And it is going to get worse. You do not rape the private sector, leaving her terrified and shivering in the corner, and expect her to enjoy the company of men again and start cranking out babies any time soon. The private sector is paralyzed. They see taxation looming and cower. They see huge new commitments to workers and tremble. And that was the President’s doing. His. And the leftist loons in Congress. But hey, credit where credit is due. Say it with me lefties and weak middle of the roaders: It’s Obama’s Fault. Get used to it, because his actions are going to harm us for a long time. Check also Ed Driscoll, ” ‘The Night the Media Took it on the Chin’ .” And of course, I’ll be on the lookout for the slightest inking of remorse regarding the left’s rush to judgment on the New York cabbie attack.
