‘Occupy CPAC’ Protester Paid $60 a Day

On February 10, 2012, in Uncategorized, by joshuapousts

**Written by Doug Powers The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is underway in Washington, DC. Naturally, OWS protesters are there to greet conference-goers and to roll out a welcome mat made of astroturf. Michelle Fields from the Daily Caller caught up with a demonstrator who claims he’s being paid. Not only does the guy in the video below say that a union local is paying him $60 a day to “Occupy” CPAC, but he also claims everybody in his group is being paid. Some are clueless as to what it is they’re protesting (note: if the video below isn’t loading try this link ) : Does $60 a day meet or exceed Occupy’s “living wage” demand ? If you’re in need of a little cheap afternoon entertainment, check out Jim Treacher’s Occupy CPAC Hippiecam . **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

‘Wingnut Hunting Season’

The radical left, emboldened by the trashing of Komen, is expanding its assault to other charitable organizations as well. And across the leftosphere, it’s been way more than victorious football-spiking. Progressives are out for blood. I’m only half joking when I say I expect to see conservative piked heads in no time. John Cole’s fanning the agitation, that’s for sure, ” They Fucking Hate You .” And from the comments , just a sample of the bloodthirsty mob: We have them outnumbered, and they have already been doing their worst, all this time. They are already literally murdering people as best they can, calling for it as openly as they can, and doing everything short of that as well. It is ON. If it comes to eye-for-an-eye ‘wingnut hunting season’, I swear I will not shed tears for these people. They’ve challenged my liberal instincts enough. I don’t owe their point of view a goddamn thing. They’ve been lying and/or wrong all this time and I’m fed up with it. I’m supposed to be alarmed if I say, ‘hi, I’m a socia1ist’ for fear they will claim my ideas are bad for everybody? Reality says THEIR ideas are bad for everybody. Very beat down and frustrated by this point. Don’t want to go full reactionary, but I’m wondering why the hell not. Just keep reading those comments for a taste of how desperate these f-kers are. Man, this is going to be one hella election year.

Obama’s Super PAC Hypocrisy

On February 8, 2012, in Uncategorized, by kohler

From Mark McKinnon, at Daily Beast, ” Obama’s Super PAC Hypocrisy: Giving Blessing to Priorities USA Action ,” and from Sissy Willis, ” How Obama learned to stop worrying and love the super PAC ” (via Linkmaster Smith ). And at yesterday’s New York Times , ” Obama Yields in Marshaling of ‘Super PAC’ “: WASHINGTON — President Obama is signaling to wealthy Democratic donors that he wants them to start contributing to an outside group supporting his re-election, reversing a long-held position as he confronts a deep financial disadvantage on a vital front in the campaign. Aides said the president had signed off on a plan to dispatch cabinet officials, senior advisers at the White House and top campaign staff members to deliver speeches on behalf of Mr. Obama at fund-raising events for Priorities USA Action, the leading Democratic “super PAC,” whose fund-raising has been dwarfed by Republican groups. The new policy was presented to the campaign’s National Finance Committee in a call Monday evening and announced in an e-mail to supporters. “We’re not going to fight this fight with one hand tied behind our back,” Jim Messina, the manager of Mr. Obama’s re-election campaign, said in an interview. “With so much at stake, we can’t allow for two sets of rules. Democrats can’t be unilaterally disarmed.” Neither the president, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., nor their wives will attend fund-raising events or solicit donations for the Democratic group. A handful of officials from the administration and the campaign will appear on behalf of Mr. Obama, aides said, but will not directly ask for money. Freakin’ asshats.

**Written by Doug Powers If she actually couldn’t see this coming, her family might want to make sure she never crosses the street unescorted: Former Democratic congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, a Catholic from Erie, Pennsylvania, cast a crucial vote in favor of Obamacare in 2010. She lost her seat that November in part because of her controversial support of Obamacare. But Dahlkemper said recently that she would have never voted for the health care bill had she known that the Department of Health and Human Services would require all private insurers, including Catholic charities and hospitals, to provide free coverage of contraception, sterilization procedures, and the “week-after” pill “ella” that can induce early abortions. “I would have never voted for the final version of the bill if I expected the Obama Administration to force Catholic hospitals and Catholic Colleges and Universities to pay for contraception,” Dahlkemper said in a press release sent out by Democrats for Life in November. What part of Nancy Pelosi’s health care law proclamation didn’t Dahlkemper understand? **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

The haute couture money-grubber

On February 7, 2012, in barack obama, Uncategorized, by GilruthMilillo633

The People’s President is raising money any way he can — and the fashion world’s 1 percent-ers have stepped up to the plate to help. Via the WSJ : At a New York fund-raising event Tuesday called “Runway to Win,” President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign plans to begin selling campaign-themed tote bags, T-shirts and accessories designed by more than two dozen famous designers. Attendees can purchase a tote bag designed by Derek Lam for $75. A collectible makeup bag created by Richard Blanch with nail polish in Red-y To Win Red, Victory White and Bo Blue is going for $40. And a silk scarf featuring Mr. Obama’s likeness by Thakoon Panichgul is $95. Profits from the sales will go to Mr. Obama’s campaign chest. Republicans are rightly raising campaign finance questions about the haute couture deals: “This raises serious questions about whether corporate money, property and employees were improperly used in the design and production of these items without reimbursement,” said Sean Spicer, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee. Jan Baran, an election lawyer with Wiley Rein LLP, said designers can’t ask employees to work on political projects unless they willingly volunteered their time. “Someone who is paid to do campaign work is not a volunteer,” he said. If the designer or staff are paid by anyone other than the campaign, it would be considered a campaign contribution from a company to a candidate. The Obama campaign said the gear complies with campaign-finance rules. “All of the designers volunteered their personal time to create these great designs,” the campaign said, and were “not underwritten with any corporate funds.” Rap mogul and designer Russell Simmons is defending Obama’s By Any Technically Legal Means Necessary strategy: Asked on CNN whether selling designer products could violate campaign finance rules – as some Republicans have suggested – Simmons said, “I think the president should use whatever resources he has within the law.” “The problem is the law the problem is that we allow so much money in politics and there are so many people funding these super PACs that are out of control,” he added. “Until the laws are changed, the president should play by any rules available.” Question: How much would you pay for this ??? *** I’ll have pleeenty to say about Obama’s SuperPAC super-hypocrisy tomorrow.

New Yorker Turns Down Nebraska Senate Bid

On February 7, 2012, in Uncategorized, by McneeLanding461

This is not exactly surprising — Bob Kerrey’s been registered to vote in New York for the past decade — but it is good news for the GOP nonetheless: Former Sen. Bob Kerrey said Tuesday he will not run for the Nebraska Senate seat he gave up more than a decade ago, shutting down hopes for a bid both parties called Democrats’ best chance to hold the seat but that Kerrey himself described as a longshot. The 1992 presidential candidate and former Nebraska governor had considered seeking the Democratic nomination to succeed Sen. Ben Nelson, who replaced Kerrey in the Senate in 2001. Nelson’s decision not to run for a third term this year came as a boon to Republicans, who must net four seats to retake the Senate and have made capturing the lone remaining Democratic seat in Nebraska’s congressional delegation a priority. The first draft of the Clint Eastwood-narrated Chrysler Super Bowl ad. (Note: Axelrod says we’re going to need to make some revisions.): SCRIPT: It’s halftime. Both teams are in their locker room discussing what they can do to win this game. But we’re thinking about the president. Because it’s halftime in America, too. People are out of work, and they’re hurting. And they’re all wondering what a bunch of politicians who can double the debt without passing a budget will do to save the economy. And we’re all scared because this isn’t a game. Because we don’t know what to do without Ray LaHood’s wisdom. Because it just wouldn’t be 2012 without a vapid campaign ad masquerading as a patriotic car spot ruining one of the very few non-politicized events left in the country. Hey, you and I know this country can’t be knocked out with one punch. It could take at least two four-year terms of punches to get the job done. Usually, though, we get right back up, administration after administration. And next time we get up, the world is going to hear the roar, er, the hum, of a 400-pound battery charged with coal-powered electricity — at approximately 40 miles a pop, if you’re really lucky. So what really matters now is what’s ahead. Stop harping on the misery of the past few years. How do we come from behind? How do we come together? And how do we win? Isn’t the answer obvious? Import Detroit. As you know, the people of Detroit know a little something about ruin. They almost lost everything. After decades of mismanagement, they needed help. So Democrats pulled the nation out of its ugly and clingy selfishness, and now Motor City is fighting again. Did I mention we sold, like, 281 Volts last month alone? Not too shabby, considering you already paid for them. Detroit’s showing us how it can be done. Nothing says winner like Detroit. And nothing says Detroit like unsustainable union pensions, a fleeing workforce and compact cars that would cost more than 100K without federal subsidies. It’s us against the world. So take that, China. And you, too, nonunion Honda assembly plant in Alabama. You know what? I’ve seen a lot of tough eras, a lot of downturns in my life (“Pink Cadillac,” “Honkytonk Man,” “J. Edgar”). It’s true; there were times when we didn’t understand each other. Other times, it seems as if we’ve lost our heart (2010 midterms). But when the GOP fog of division, discord and blame made it so that we had to deal with unnecessary partisan squabbling, He acted. And if we don’t reward failure, who will? So it’s time to divide the nation by the 1s and 99s, by filthy despicable rich and decent folk. It’s time to find a common adversary. It’s time to be almost united. Because through all our tribulations, we’ve rallied around what was right (except during the 2010 midterms). Because freedom isn’t worth anything if you don’t fall in line. In the past, we’ve fought wars together and we’ve built wondrous highway systems (which we really shouldn’t be using so much, by the way). Today we continue that tradition by handing favored corporations taxpayer-funded cash giveaways so that cronies can sell out to Italian car manufacturers. Yeah, it’s halftime, America. And our second half’s about to begin. Thank you, Mr. President. ———————————————————— Follow @ davidharsanyi

And The Race Card Rises Again

So, we can see the majority of the elements Democrats will use to attempt to get the Most Incompetent President Ever re-elected. Class warfare led by a rich guy who doesn’t pay his fair share? Check. Redistributive rhetoric led by rich guys who won’t give up their own money? Check. Blaming Congress, half of which
