Adding to its most recent stint of revenge on organizations like the FBI and the Boston Police Department , the hacker collective Anonymous has infiltrated the website of a law firm that defended a U.S. Marine who killed 24 Iraqi citizens in 2005. Gizmodo reports that seven years ago, then Sergeant Frank Wuterich along with other Marines killed two dozen in Haditha, Iraq, in retaliation for an IED strike. Wuterich admitted to the killings and last week was charged with “negligent dereliction of duty” but did not receive any jail time or other punishment. Now, Anonymous is fighting what it believe is an injustice by attacking  Puckett & Faraj , the firm that defended Wuterich. The firm’s website is currently dysfunctional and Anonymous threatens having a host of private information that it will be releasing. Here’s what Anonymous wrote (via Gizmod0): We went ahead and fired off some shots of our own — at the servers and personal email accounts of Puckett & Faraj. We defaced their website and dumped nearly 3GB of private email messages belonging to Neal Puckett and Haytham Faraj. The contents of these email messages include detailed records, transcripts, testimony, trial evidence, and legal defense donation records pertaining to not only Frank Wuterich but also many other marines they have represented. And to add a few layers of icing to this delicious caek, we got the usual boatloads of embarrassing personal information. How do you think the world will react when they find out Neal Puckett and his marine buddies have been making crude jokes about the incident where marines have been caught on video pissing on dead bodies in Afghanistan? Or that he regularly corresponds with and receives funding from former marine Don Greenlaw who runs the racist blog http://snooper.wordpress.com? We believe it is time to release all of their private information and court evidence to the world and conduct a People’s trial of our own. Gizmodo reports that a source within the hacker collective told them that all the attacks today (Related: Read about how Anonymous hacked into the FBI’s conference call) are coordinated but have their own “particular motivations.” Anonymous has also reportedly attacked the Texas Police Association’s website, Salt Lake City police and Greece’s justice ministry. Gizmodo also states that when they called Puckett & Faraj, the firm didn’t known it had been hacked yet.

(The Blaze/AP) A bomb that seriously injured two people in a Colorado town was left beside their car in a paper bag with their names written on it, police said Sunday. Allyson Stone, 44, and her husband, 59-year-old Christopher Stone, were hospitalized with burns after the explosion on Saturday in Lafayette. No other information about the couple or the device had been released. The couple found the bag as they were preparing to drive to Boulder, and they put it in the car with them, police said. Christopher Stone told investigators it exploded as his wife began to open it when they had driven about a block. 9 News reports that officers say they have a suspect, but haven’t released any details. About 20 homes were evacuated as police investigated. Residents were allowed to return about eight hours later when no other explosives were found. Police have said they believe the Stones were the target and that the public wasn’t in danger. Allyson Stone received death threats in 2010 after a dog bit her and the case went to court, The Denver Post reported. The dog could have been put to death under vicious-animal statutes but was spared. Authorities have said they don’t believe the explosion was related to that incident but hadn’t ruled it out. The FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were assisting in the investigation.

At Seattle Times , ” Suspect in ranger’s slaying found dead in creek “: Driven relentlessly through chest-deep snow by his pursuers and unprepared for bitter, freezing temperatures, the suspect in the Sunday slaying of a Mount Rainier National Park ranger died cold and wet overnight — lying half-submerged in Paradise Creek and wearing one tennis shoe, a T-shirt and jeans, barely one mile from where he had fled into the woods. Indications are that Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, died from exposure. His body showed no sign of injuries, and he was carrying a handgun, a magazine of ammunition and a knife, said Sgt. Ed Troyer of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. “The manhunt has been concluded,” announced Steven Dean, FBI assistant special agent in charge, at a news conference outside the park’s main gate Monday afternoon. The FBI recovered another ammunition magazine near Barnes’ body, and the sheriff’s Swift Water Rescue Team found an assault-style rifle about 50 yards upstream. Officials said Barnes had left survival gear in his car, which he fled after firing on rangers Sunday. More at the link . A sheriff’s office in Washington state tells the Associated Press that a U.S. Forest Service ranger has been shot at Mount Rainier National Park. According to KATU , 34-year-old park ranger Margaret Anderson was fatally shot following a traffic stop in the 368-square-mile park Sunday. “At around 10:20 a.m. Sunday, another park service employee had tried to stop a man in his vehicle. He didn’t stop, so Anderson set up a road block with her vehicle in the middle of the road, said park spokeswoman Lee Taylor. The man pulled up to Anderson about 11 a.m., jumped out, fired and ran off, she said. Troyer said when authorities arrived they were also shot at, but no one else was hit.” Anderson died from her injuries. Officials closed the park after the shooting, and KATU reports that investigators are searching for 24-year-old Benjamin Colton Barnes, a “strong person of interest.” Investigators recovered a car in the park filled with weapons, body armor and survivalist gear, but would not yet say to KATU whether the car belongs to Barnes. The News Tribune reports that the shooting happened just before 11 a.m. near the Longmire Ranger Station. The Tribune writes that Anderson is married to a fellow park ranger an has two daughters, who are approximately 2 and 4. “She loved people and she loved being outside,” Paul Kritsch, Anderson’s father, told KOMO News Radio.

Since this blog was founded in 2005 and before that, since the publication of Invasion in 2002, I’ve covered the blood-boiling deaths of law enforcement and border security officials who put their lives on the front lines for us — only to lose them in part because of government negligence, malfeasance, and refusal to do what needs to be done to keep America safe. We have mourned murdered National Park Service ranger Kris Eggle . And Denver detective Donnie Young . And Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy David March. And Houston police officer Rodney Johnson. And so many more. All are etched in my consciousness permanently, but none have shaken me more than the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry one year ago today. The systemic incompetence, callousness, and corruption that created the conditions for his murder are unfathomable. The cover-up that continues today in the White House is unconscionable. Look back at how Agent Terry’s death was first reported 12 months ago: A Border Patrol agent was shot and killed Tuesday night near Rio Rico after encountering several suspects, federal authorities said Wednesday. Agent Brian Terry was killed just 10 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, north of Nogales. Four suspects are in custody and one is being pursued, according to a press release from Customs and Border Protection. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. Now, reflect on the extent of the lies , leaks , deception , and obstruction in the investigations of Agent Terry’s murder. Now, imagine the suffering of the Terry family a year later — still seeking answers and the truth about Operation Fast and Furious — as they endured the vile, cynical exploitation of the case by Attorney General Eric Holder, who released his Kabuki “apology” letter to the media before they had even received it. Border security activists, Second Amendment activists, anti-corruption advocates, and all Americans who care about the security and sovereignty of this country owe this family their thoughts, prayers, and gratitude as they continue to fight for the truth. *** Neil McCabe at Human Events has a moving tribute and retrospective. Katie Pavlich at Townhall.com remembers. Vigilant national security/second amendment blogger David Codrea at Sipsey Street Irregulars marks the anniversary: A year. And still we wait for the FBI to figure out a way to prosecute the one wounded killer they were forced to retain without compromising their cover-up of the involvement of their one-armed paid snitch. A year. And still we wait for the much ballyhooed Office of Inspector General Report. You know, the one that the administration always uses to justify not telling you anything about the Gunwalker Scandal. A year. And still we wait for the “mainstream media” to actually engage on the story of the greatest scandal of federal misadventure to date. Watch this video from the House GOP Oversight and Reform on Brian Terry’s service to our nation: More calls for Holder’s resignation. And the no-confidence tide swells. FBI Director Bob Mueller may get Fast and Furious questions today. Bob Owens spotlights Mother Jones trying to shoot the messenger on F&F. How long will national media outlets keep up the Fast and Furious blackout? Mary Chastain is keeping tabs .

Last week, AT&T had to give customers the unfortunate news that their systems may have been hacked . Although less than 1 percent of customers were affected, reports are now coming out that the hack was traced to four hackers with connections to a Saudi Arabian terrorist group. PC World reports that the FBI in cooperation with Filipino police were able to bust those involved in the $2 million hack of AT&T’s system: FBI agents, who have been investigating hacking of telecommunication companies in the U.S. and in the country since 1999, have uncovered a “paper trail” of various bank transactions allegedly linking the local hackers to the cell in Saudi Arabia, whose activities include financing terrorist activities, [Criminal Investigation and Detection Group] said in a statement. The Philippines police said that Muhammad Zamir, a Jemaah Islamiyah member, paid the suspects to hack the trunk-line of different telecommunication companies including AT&T. Revenue derived from the hacking was diverted to the account of the terrorists, who paid the Filipino hackers on a commission basis through local banks, CIDG said. Jemaah Islamiyah is an Islamic militant group that has been active in South East Asia and is said to be linked to some terrorist attacks in the region, including the Bali bombing in 2002. According to the press release from the Philippine Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, of those arrested,  three were men and was a one woman . Computer and telecommunication equipment were also confiscated. The press release states that the FBI requested help of the Philippine National Police in March 2011 when it found the group had targeted AT&T.

A recent report claims that a Georgia business owner has been posting “controversial” signs on his company’s trucks. What do they say? “New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone.” See the 11Alive news update: “Can’t afford it,” explained the employer, Bill Looman, Tuesday evening in a recent 11Alive report. “I’ve got people that I want to hire now, but I just can’t afford it. And I don’t foresee that I’ll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C.” Looman’s says he put the signs on his company’s trucks and posted pictures of them to his personal Facebook page six months ago. When he originally did that, he said that he received mostly positive reaction from people, “about 20-to-one positive.” However, one of those pictures went viral on Monday and the reaction was enormous. In fact, the reaction was so huge that Looman had to disconnect his phones because of the non-stop calls, and he’s had to temporarily shut down his company’s website “because of all the traffic crashing the system,” 11Alive reports. Looman made it clear:  he is not  refusing  to hire to make some political point; it’s that he doesn’t believe he  can  hire anyone because of the poor economy that the Obama administration has helped to create, adds the 11Alive report. “The way the economy’s running, and the way my business has been hampered by the economy, and the policies of the people in power, I felt that it was necessary to voice my opinion, and predict that I wouldn’t be able to do any hiring,” he said. Apparently, someone  really didn’t like the signs: Looman was reported to the FBI as a threat to national security. The accusation started with the FBI, went through the Department of Homeland Security, and ended with Secret Service Agents interviewing him. “The Secret Service left here, they were in a good mood and laughing,” Looman said. “I got the feeling they thought it was kind of ridiculous, and a waste of their time.” Despite the visit from the Secret Service, as well as the flood of calls and Internet traffic, Looman refuses to take the signs down. “I just spent 10 years in the Marine Corps protecting the rights of people… the First Amendment, and the Second Amendment and the [rest of the] Bill of Rights,” he said. “Lord knows they’re calling me at 2 in the morning, all night long, and voicing their opinion. And I respect their right to do that. I’m getting a reaction, a lot of it’s negative, now. But a lot of people are waking up.”

So, yeah. All that White House demagoguery about prescription drug shortages I wrote about last week was simply smoke and mirrors to cover up rotten crony deals for his Big Pharma/Big Labor friends. I shed more light below on the chumminess between former SEIU thug-in-chief Andy Stern, fat cat Dem donor Ronald Perelman, and Obama health care bureaucrat Nicole Lurie. Related non-shocker: SEIU announced its endorsement of Obama 2012. Pay to play. Corrupt birds of a feather… *** Obama’s Half-Billion-Dollar Crony Drug Deal by Michelle Malkin Creators Syndicate Copyright 2011 What do you get when you mix Democratic fat-cat donations, Big Labor favors, pharmaceutical lobbying and Beltway business as usual? Answer: another toxic half-billion-dollar Barack Obama-approved crony deal. Move over, Solyndra. Here comes Siga-Gate. This latest Chicago-style payoff on your dime involves a dubious smallpox drug backed by a liberal billionaire investor, along with a former union boss who was one of the White House’s most frequent visitors. They’re the “1 percent” with 100 percent immunity from the selectively outraged Occupier mobs that purport to oppose partisan government bailouts and handouts to privileged corporations. Ronald Perelman is the New York City-based leveraged buyout wheeler-dealer who controls Siga Technologies. He has donated nearly $130,000 mostly to Democrats over the past two election cycles alone (history here ), and he forked over $50,000 to pay for the president’s lavish inaugural parties. A Siga affiliate ( MacAndrews and Forbes ) pitched in nearly half a million more in contributions — 65 percent of which went to Democrats — and the firms have spent millions on lobbying . Perelman’s pharma company makes an experimental antiviral pill used by smallpox patients who received diagnoses too late to be treated with the existing smallpox vaccine. Smallpox experts cast doubt on the need for the drug given ample vaccine stockpiles, the remoteness of a mass attack and questions about its efficacy. But over the objections of federal contract negotiators, competitors and scientists, the Obama administration approved a lucrative $433 million no-bid deal for Siga in May. No other manufacturers were able to compete for the “sole source” procurement, according to the Los Angeles Times. The special arrangement was made after a competitor objected to the administration’s violating small-business rules during a first call for bids. That’s right: It’s yet another rigged giveaway from a Hope-and-Change champion who vowed on the 2008 campaign trail to “end the abuse of no-bid contracts once and for all.” Intensifying the culture-of-corruption stench: the critical role of Andy Stern . He’s the profligate, corruption-coddling former head of the powerful Service Employees International Union — the 2.2 million-member public-employee union powerhouse that he left in April 2010 with a mountain of debt and eroding rank-and-file pensions (and looming FBI investigation ). After pouring some $60 million of workers’ dues into Democratic coffers, Stern was rewarded by Obama with a cozy spot on the White House deficit panel and dozens of visits to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue — including at least seven with the president, one with Vice President Joe Biden, and meetings with Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Biden Chief of Staff Ron Klain, OMB Director Peter Orszag, health czar aide Jennifer Cannistra and Valerie Jarrett’s former high-powered aide and Chicago fundraiser Tina Tchen. In a classic access-buying maneuver, Siga placed Stern on its board of directors in June 2010. Four months later, Siga nabbed an estimated $3 billion contract. By January of this year, Siga’s stock had skyrocketed . The House GOP has been investigating the deal for months, which comes amid separate allegations of insider trading and political profiteering by investigative journalist Peter Schweizer. Stern and Perelman have been scratching each other’s backs for years. In the fall of 2006, the SEIU backed off organizing protests against AlliedBarton , a security guard firm in Philadelphia owned by a Perelman interest — and then remained quiet when the firm was bought out by a longtime SEIU nemesis , the Blackstone Group. According to the L.A. Times, which exposed the scandal over the weekend, Obama’s top biodefense bureaucrat Nicole Lurie railroaded a key dissenter at the Department of Health and Human Services who ridiculed Siga’s inflated projected profit margins. Lurie soothingly reassured a whiny Siga executive that the “most senior procurement official” would take over and mollified him in a letter: “I trust this will be satisfactory to you.” Lurie falsely told the newspaper that she had never made contact with the official regarding the contract and deemed any such contact improper. When caught with documentation, her department spun the communication with Siga as a “national security” matter. Lurie, it should be noted, is a former Clintonite and Howard Dean health care consultant who was most recently in the headlines for pushing anthrax vaccine testing for children . According to the Labor Union Report , there have been market murmurs of a merger between Siga and the anthrax vaccine manufacturer, PharmAthene. Hard to trust Lurie’s public health moral authority with the taint of pay-for-play wafting over the Siga deal. As always, venture socialism backed by Big Labor muscle and White House wealth redistribution is hazardous to taxpayers’ health.

Out of a 26-member advisory council, the Department of Homeland Security allowed just one advisor, Mohammed Elibiary, special access to a nationwide database that includes terror watch lists and FBI sensitive reports. Now, the Texas Muslim is being accused of leaking some of those documents to the media with the stated goal of damaging Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry. Elibiary asserts that the documents show what he calls the “Islamophobia” of Texas government agencies. CBN News reports: He’s accused of taking confidential documents from the Texas Department of Public Safety and shopping them to the media. “Within hours of getting access he had downloaded those documents and began marketing to these publications,” investigative journalist Patrick Poole told CBN News. “Oddly enough, Elibiary sits on the Texas Department of Public Safety Advisory Council,” Poole said. “This was his own agency that he was sabotaging — or trying to sabotage.” Even more disturbing, is that Elibiary has committed some highly dubious acts before. In 2004, he spoke at a conference honoring Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini, calling him a “great Islamic visionary,” and has praised former Muslim Brotherhood leader Sayyid Qutb. According to CBN, Elibiary has also publicly condemned the prosecution of Hamas fundraisers in the United States. CBN’s Erick Stakelbeck adds: In a disturbing 2006 email exchange with a  Dallas Morning News  editor, Elibiary wrote: “Treat people as inferiors and you can expect someone to put a banana in your exhaust pipe or something.” Yet Elibiary has marketed himself as a moderate expert on Muslim de-radicalization — and the U.S. government has taken notice. In 2010, he was named to a working group that helped shape the Obama administration’s counterterrorism strategy. Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano later swore in Elibiary as part of her advisory council. “You read his writings, he is defending Sayyid Qutb…a guy that Osama bin Laden referred to and studied to give him a basis for his acts of violence,” Republican Congressman Louis Gohmert said. “And (Napolitano) puts the guy on the Homeland Security Advisory Committee, gives him a secret clearance?” Gohmert, who grilled Napolitano about Elibary at an October congressional hearing, is now calling for an investigation into the leak case. But CBN notes an even larger problem could be at play. Gohmert told the news agency that by allowing someone like Elibiary into its inner-sanctum, the U.S. government is allowing radical Islamists an intimate look into U.S. counterterrorism operations. “They’re bringing in the Muslim Brotherhood to the inner sanctum and saying ‘Look, they like us! This means peace in our time!’ And what they’re doing is subjecting this nation to real danger,” he said. Elibiary has not responded to CBN’s request for comment. Meanwhile, it remains unclear why Elibiary was given exclusive access to the DHS database in the first place.
