I told you the other day about a new liberal fatwa against meteorologists because they aren’t following the doctrines of the Cult Of Gore. To recap (WCTV) A new campaign, Forecast the Facts (www.forecastthefacts.org), launches Sunday to pressure TV meteorologists to inform their viewers about climate change. The launch coincides with the kick-off of

St. Louis blogger Adam Sharp has posted a series of videos from Van Jones’ recent talk at Washington University.  The most exciting clip was when they decided to toss Adam out of the event!  But his subsequent posts have been revealing on a number of fronts, including Jones comparing Fox News to Satan . Today Sharp Elbows adds one more clip into the mix.  Many of you have followed Glenn Beck’s analysis of how desperate progressives will begin to drive wedges in this country that may trigger the kind of trouble we’ve watching unfold across Europe.  It seems Van Jones is now predicting just that.   Jones is unwavering that the U.S. is “going to go into a tough period.”  A “potential nightmare scenario” he calls it. Jones sees two trends.  A country that is growing more diverse.   And one that he is certain is going to be “less and less economically prosperous.”  He repeats his forecast.  Makes you wonder –  what intel does he have that he can be so confident of American economic demise? These trends, says Jones pointing us to history, make up a recipe:  “That is not a recipe for common ground, that’s a recipe for a battleground.” Sharp entitles his video with a question: Is Van Jones Predicting a Civil War? Bonus Van Jones flashback: While looking for pictures to help with this post I came across an old favorite.  This isn’t new — it was much discussed a year ago.  It takes us back to 2003 when Van Jones served as the grass roots political director for then California gubernatorial candidate…Arianna Huffington:

Nate Silver: ’52-Seat Gain For G.O.P.’

On October 27, 2010, in Uncategorized, by If Bush Did It

Sounds about right : If Democrats were hoping for a late surge to improve their chances of retaining control of the House, there isn’t any evidence of it yet. Instead, Republicans have generally had the better of the polls in individual House districts released in the past 24 hours. FiveThirtyEight’s forecast now projects the most likely composition of the House to be 231 Republicans and 204 Democrats. This is a one-seat improvement for the Republicans from yesterday’s forecast, and would mean that they’d gain a net of 52 seats over all. There is uncertainty in the forecast: Democrats have a 20 percent chance of maintaining control of the House, essentially unchanged from a 21 percent chance yesterday. Much of this 20 percent probability reflects the potential for there to be systematic errors in the polling, as there were in years like 1998. Since there are a very large number of competitive seats, relatively small anomalies in the polling could potentially affect the outcome of dozens of races. Although the Democrats’ overall position is poor, it is not yet so poor that it couldn’t be salvaged if they beat their polling averages by 2 or 3 points nationwide. Still, such errors could also work in Republicans’ favor, potentially enabling gains in excess of 60 or even 70 seats ….

AP – Hurricane Earl steamed toward the Eastern Seaboard early Thursday as communities from North Carolina to New England kept a close eye on the forecast, worried that even a slight shift in the storm’s predicted offshore track could put millions of people in the most densely populated part of the country in harm’s way.

June Gloom is Gone for Now

On July 14, 2010, in Uncategorized, by If Bush Did It

As noted, I’ve been complaining about the gloomy weather we’ve been having, but today’s clear and hot out, and I’m about to head down to Laguna Beach with my youngest son. There’s a story on this as well at the Long Beach Press-Telegram , ” June Gloom is Gone for Now “: That dreary and solar obstructing weather that plagued the area for most of June and crawled into July for a few days is gone, and here comes the sun, a meteorologist said. “The June gloom is gone for now,” said Mike Pigott, a meteorologist with AccuWeather.com Tuesday was cloudless and had sunny skies. The recorded high at Long Beach Airport was 87 at 2 p.m., Pigott said. Thanks to a high pressure system, warm, sunny weather is in the forecast through the weekend, he said. More blogging this afternoon, and hopefully some good pics as well! And hey, don’t forget about your summer reading, for example, S. C. Gwynne, Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History .
