KANSAS CITY, Mo. (The Blaze/AP) — An FBI cadaver dog reacted to the scent of a dead person inside the Kansas City home where a baby girl disappeared nearly three weeks ago, according to a police affidavit released Friday. The affidavit was filed to support a search warrant request for the home of Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, who reported their 10-month-old daughter, Lisa Irwin, missing Oct. 4 and said someone must have crept into the home and taken the girl while the mother and two other boys slept. The affidavit said the dog taken into the house Monday indicated a “positive ‘hit’ for the scent of a deceased human in an area of the floor of Bradley’s bedroom near the bed.” A judge approved the warrant Tuesday and police and the FBI conducted a daylong search Wednesday. Court documents filed Friday said police took blankets, toys and clothing from the house, as well as rolls of tape and a tape dispenser. Watch the latest video at video.insider.foxnews.com The family’s local lawyer, Cynthia Short, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment, and police declined to discuss what they found. “We aren’t able to talk about specifics of the case,” said police spokeswoman Stacey Graves. “The documents that were made public will have to stand on their own.” The FBI dogs, which often are used at both disaster and crime scenes, are trained “specially to recognize the scent of decaying, decomposing human flesh,” retired FBI special agent Jeff Lanza said Friday. “That’s what they hit on. What the dogs are saying is that they smell that scent,” Lanza said. “That can be the scent of an actual body decomposing, or residual scents after the body is no longer there.” Wednesday’s search was perhaps law enforcement’s most aggressive yet at the parent’s home, drawing officers armed with shovels, rakes and other tools who hauled off bags that appeared to be full of potential evidence. Police also brought in a bomb and arson truck to assist the search, though spokesman Capt. Steve Young said there were no indications of explosives in the house. Some bomb detection devices use X-ray technology to scan solid objects to reveal items concealed within. An AP reporter saw investigators carrying at least a dozen thin, black rectangular sheets away from the home during the afternoon.

An unexpected bit of motivational viewing from the House Republican Leadership. House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the party’s vote counter, began his talk by showing a clip from the movie, “The Town”, trying to forge a sense of unity among the independent-minded caucus. I saw this first at William Jacobson’s, ” Fogel Family Murderers Captured .” Also at Joshua Pundit, ” Fogel Family’s ‘Palestinian’ Murderers And Their Accomplices Arrested ,” and Uncoverage, ” Two Palestinian Teenagers Arrested for Murders of Israeli Family of Five .” And see John Hayward, at Human Events , ” West Bank Killers Captured “: The murder of the Fogel family was an invisible atrocity, reported in very muted tones by the global media despite (or, more accurately, because of) its lurid savagery. Udi and Ruth Fogel were a young couple with sons Yoav and Elad, aged 11 and 4, plus a three-month-old baby daughter named Hadas. They were “settlers,” which means “people who live in parts of Israel where terrorists say Jews are forbidden to live.” The family was slaughtered with guns and knives. Their 12-year-old daughter Tamar was away from the house on the night of the massacre … Today is the beginning of Passover, when Jews remember the night when the Angel of Death walked the streets of Egypt, passing over Jewish homes, which had been marked with the blood of lambs. The Angel of Death has been making up for lost time with the Jews ever since. These days, the blood of lambs flows from the open veins of children. The “civilized” world finds many excuses to ignore their murders, and grows colder in the process.

Palestinian Teens Arrested in West Bank Fogel Family Massacre
Seventeen pro-union protesters were arrested outside the Washington state capitol yesterday after they blocked the governor’s door and got physical with state troopers . The protesters were part of a group angry over proposed budget cuts. The altercation began when the protesters blocked the governor’s office and chanted “We want to see her!” When troopers ordered the crowd to disperse some didn’t, instead locking arms and holding fast: KOMO-TV reports : Sixteen of the protesters were cited for disorderly conduct and released. The seventeenth protester was taken into custody and booked into jail on suspicion of assaulting two troopers. Before the arrests, hundreds of people were already on the scene Thursday morning. Many of them spent the night on the hard marble floor of the main legislative building. The Washington State Labor Council said the protests would focus on proposed cuts to state-funded health services, and demonstrators urged lawmakers to close tax loopholes rather than making cuts in the budget. Members of the Service Employees International Union, which represents caregivers for clients with special needs, claimed there are some 567 tax loopholes in Washington state that could be closed to prevent drastic budget cuts. As the legislative day began Thursday, state troopers dragged about a dozen protesters from the House gallery after they started reading aloud what they called “personal histories” of disabled clients affected by budget cuts. There were no arrests in that incident. Meanwhile, another large protest group numbering in the hundreds massed at a downtown Olympia park and marched to a Chase Bank branch. The demonstrators claimed that Chase Bank is receiving millions of dollars in tax breaks from the state that it inherited after taking over Washington Mutual. Protesters called for the elimination of the tax breaks. Later, a group of protesters gathered in the Rotunda and ended up marching toward the governor’s office, where the shoving match and arrests took place. “This is our house, and I’m not backing down, not one bit,” shouted one demonstrator. “My house, our house, everybody’s house. And this is how we get treated. No more.” About 50 protesters spent the night in sleeping bags on a hard marble floor of the state Capitol in Olympia.

17 Pro-Union Protesters Arrested After Shoving Wash. State Troopers, Rushing Gov. Office
It's not quite a Charlie Crist–level symbolic embrace of Obama, or on par with the thorny individual mandate of Romneycare, but once and perhaps future senator George LeMieux of Florida — increasingly seen as a likely candidate for the seat currently held by Bill Nelson in 2012 — can probably expect some grief over comments early in his term that suggested an openness to the exchanges created under Obamacare: Florida Senator George LeMieux said today he likes the sound of President Obama’s proposal for creating health-care “exchanges” to help small businesses and individuals form groups to get better insurance rates. LeMieux, just minutes after taking the oath of office, had a brief press conference in the Capitol in which he praised some aspects of Obama’s speech on Wednesday and expressed skepticism about an offshore drilling plan in the Senate. “Some of the things he (Obama) talked about I thought were positive,” LeMieux, a Republican, said of Obama’s speech on Wednesday. LeMieux watched from the House gallery since he was not yet a senator. He compared the exchange idea to insurance plans promoted by Governor Charlie Crist, who appointed LeMiuex to the Senate seat. Of course, LeMieux will be able to point out that unless one of Florida's House Republicans runs for the nomination, he alone among the GOP contenders has already voted against Obamacare ; today Lemieux reiterated it must be repealed.
