Our friends at Business Insider  make note of an interesting exchange on “Morning Joe” Tuesday morning regarding former “Parker Spitzer” host Kathleen Parker: [Host Mika] Brzezisnski: “I’m so glad to see her emerging on a number of different fronts.  Obviously she has her column.  I’m so glad she’s done with that, blech! That situation wherever she was before.  An unnamed network.” Said Mike Barnicle: “She was brutalized in her prior professional experience!” Said Tina Brown: “She was wearing her abaya on that show and it was pretty tough.” If you’re not familiar with the term “abaya,” Merriam-Webster defines it thusly: a loose-fitting full-length robe worn by some Muslim women

Imagining if Eliot Spitzer Met His Match…

I hadn't planned on posting this bit from the Jolt, but apparently a lot of readers found the imagined exchange hysterical: They've Got Spitzer, They've Got Parker, But They Don't Have Watchers

Generally, most of the major tools on the Internet are ignored, yet, everyone once in a while they write something so incredibly mindless, so half no-witted, so perfidious, that it needs to be exposed. Here’s Kathleen Parker’s bit of complete idiocy: My name is Glenn Beck, and I need help Despite all the words spilled in

‘Leave Michelle Obama Alone!’

On August 11, 2010, in Uncategorized, by If Bush Did It

**Written by Doug Powers Kathleen Parker has a column in the Washington Post that calls for over-reactionary American critics of Hope & Change™ to leave Michelle Obama alone and cut her a break for the Spain trip and other extravagance during these tough economic times. Leave her alone? The First Lady is a proponent of taking one person’s pie and giving it to somebody else; She’s for the mandatory measurement and tracking of kids’ Body Mass Index ; She promotes the bill that regulates and will ultimately decimate our health insurance options. The list goes on. Don’t criticize Michelle Obama? When she leaves me alone, then believe me, I’ll be more than happy to return the favor — in good times or in bad. Until then, all I can do is ask her defenders who are saying the cost of the trip didn’t even put a dent in the treasury, “How many poor people who are getting screwed over by the teachers union bailout could $400,000 worth of food stamps have helped?” That’s a lot of pie that could have been given up so somebody else could have had more (frankly I can’t believe that the metaphor for wealth hasn’t yet been officially changed from pie to celery, but give it time). That said, in this one instance, I am willing to cut the First Lady a break. I remember when a friend of mine in Detroit lost a parent and how difficult it was as we struggled our way through the grief process from our suites at Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland. And the financially-strapped relatives back home who we charged a good portion of the trip to didn’t complain one bit — as it should be. Obligatory: **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe
