This clip from Neil Cavuto ‘s Fox News program “Your World” aired last Friday, but it wasn’t available to share at the time. In his “Common Sense” segment, Cavuto pulled news media personalities by the hair for dismissing Donald Trump while simultaneously hanging on to his every word. This was just after Trump had endorsed Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee for president. “They covered Trump live. He didn’t ask them to cover him live. They made it a spectacle, he didn’t make it a spectacle,” Cavuto said. “They called him showman but not a one of them admitted Donald Trump was good for their show, actually very good for their show, all of their shows.” Cavuto is generally right. Trump is a walking headline. I write about him frequently (see here , here and here ). And he is all too readily dismissed by figures in the media as a carnival barker without the slightest acknowledgement that that’s the very thing that attracts their attention. Let me be the first: Trump is a total crank. But yes, I’ll write about him the next time he opens his perpetually pursed mouth anyway. Watch: Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com

Neil Cavuto’s spot-on criticism of Trump-media relationship

For some reason, Walter James Casper III doesn’t think I’m serious here. In response to my latest report, Casper continues to argue that nothing under the law prohibits him from his harassing contacts that I have repeatedly warned him not to make. See: ” Update On Big Talking Harassment-Blogger Capt. Fogg of ‘Human Voices’ .” I am not linking to his harassment blog or to Capt. Fogg’s. But Casper is arguing that the federal anti-harassment law requires either the distribution of pornography or anonymous contacts. That is not true. Federal statute 47 U.S.C. 223 prohibits anonymous harassment on the Internet and general harassment with the intent to annoy . As one writer indicates : Ok, let me put this in plain English for you, using the language of section 223 itself: Anybody who uses the Internet to post or email any comment, request, suggestion, proposal, image, or other communication which is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or indecent, with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass another person has just committed a Federal crime, for which they can be imprisoned, fined, or both. By this definition, Casper’s repeated indecent and harassing contacts directed to me against my wishes constitute a federal crime — and this is why I will continue to repudiate Casper’s criminal activities, and why I will not be bullied into silence or intimidated into withdrawal. This is bigger than this one progressive’s attacks. Why on earth does Casper insist that he has a right to comment at the blog against my wishes, and why especially does he believe that he has a right to email me with malicious and annoying comments? The answer, of course, is that he’s a progressive totalitarian. Progressives do not and will not tolerate difference, and that is what has been driving Casper since he became a troll stalker at this blog years ago. After I banned him he refused to stay away. And he and his allies have taken their malevolence to another level — it’s simply obscene what assholes like this think they can get away with and I refuse to be bullied. The man runs a hate blog pure and simple. I have reported him to the police. And as I noted by the officer, Casper’s actions were indeed harassing and that such activities were possibly criminal actions under Section 653m of the California Penal Code. See my report: ” California Penal Code Section 653m on Criminal Harassment With Intent to Annoy: Report on Unwanted Illegal Contacts by Fascist Hate-Blogger Walter James Casper III .” Now, since Casper has argued that he is not restrained by state law I have indicated I will take it to the federal level. I am researching my options under the law. If the harassment continues I will be speaking to my U.S. representative, and I’ll contact federal law enforcement officials. I intend to show that Casper is harassing not only under Section 223 but that he may also be liable for federal civil rights violations. Casper’s harassment could be driven by both ideological and racial bigotry. See the FBI’s page, ” Hate-fueled crimes are not just a thing of the past .” Casper has a long history as attacking me as “halfrican’ and he’s also routinely made disparaging remarks against people of color, indicating, for example, that he judges people first by their racial and ethnic identities, which is a form of racial profiling. And top of that, I’ve long documented the racist hatred that’s routinely spewed in the comments at Casper’s harassment blog. It’s a vile repository of hate. It’s simply amazing that a radical leftist purportedly committed to racial equality could in fact be so filled with racial hatred as this. But again, progressives are totalitarian and I’m more than ready to use their racial rights regime to stop their own hate and intimidation. So, all this is for the record. Walter James Casper III is on warning once again to stop the harassment. No one should be subject to that kind of hatred and campaigns of destruction simply for ideological disagreements. But these are progressives, so this is what they do by their essence. Leftists are freaks, dirtbags, and secular demons. NOTE:

Reuters – The White House received a letter last year purported to come directly from Mullah Omar, the reclusive leader of the Taliban, asking the United States to deliver militant prisoners whose transfer is now at the heart of the Obama administration’s bid to broker peace in Afghanistan.

Media Matters Digs In

Newt Gingrich has been suggesting for some time that other Republican presidential primary opponents should drop out of the race so he can consolidate support as the anti-Romney candidate. Texas Governor Rick Perry dropped out and gave Gingrich his endorsement  just as the former Speaker was picking up steam before his South Carolina GOP primary win, and Gingrich once again suggested that Rick Santorum step aside in the days leading up to the Florida GOP primary. Santorum has stood his ground, and is now fighting back. Following Gingrich’s distant second place finish to Mitt Romney in Florida’s GOP primary Tuesday, a state where Santorum secured 13 percent of the vote after applying considerably less time and resources, the Pennsylvania senator has responded that Newt is the one who should back down. “If you don’t want Mitt Romney, obviously Newt Gingrich doesn’t have what it takes to win this,” Santorum told reporters from Las Vegas Tuesday night as Florida’s results projected Gingrich far behind Romney. “Let’s give someone else a shot.” “In Florida, Newt Gingrich had his opportunity,” POLITICO reports Santorum told supporters Tuesday. “He said, ‘I’m going to be the conservative alternative.’ … It didn’t work. He became the issue. We can’t allow our nominee to be the issue in the campaign.” Santorum’s attack against Gingirch went a step further Wednesday, when his campaign began airing a new Television ad in Nevada which aligns the former Speaker with President Obama and Rep. Nancy Pelosi. The National Journal’s Tim Alberta  writes that the Santorum campaign noticeably spares the newly invigorated Republican front-runner Mitt Romney: “That Santorum would spare Romney from such an effective, well-orchestrated attack is puzzling. After all, Romney  has  been criticized for previously supporting these policies — cap and trade, amnesty, insurance mandates and bailouts — at various points during his two presidential campaigns. Indeed, some of those attacks have been leveled by Santorum himself. So why did the former Pennsylvania senator, who was forceful last week in tying Obama’s policies to Romney and Gingrich, choose not to kill two birds with one stone in this major post-Florida media buy? In short, because Santorum’s most pressing priority isn’t taking down Romney — it’s emerging as the consensus conservative alternative to him. And in order to do that, Santorum must first displace Gingrich — both in the polls and in the media narrative — as Romney’s main rival.” The Santorum strategy and Alberta’s analysis further exemplifies what has always been the overall rider of the 2012 GOP primary: there are two candidates; Romney and whoever claims the Anti-Romney mantel.

In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Republican strategist Karl Rove says Mitt Romney has had an advantage in news coverage of his campaign from “traditional” outlets: February has only two primaries (Michigan and Arizona, both on the 28th) and one debate (on the 22nd). Mr. Romney can duplicate his Florida strategy, where his campaign and super PAC outspent the Gingrich forces on ads by a ratio of 5 to 1 during the last three weeks. But dangers lurk. While traditional news organizations have been balanced or slightly favorable in their coverage of Mr. Romney, the GOP blogosphere has been decidedly negative on him all January, pointing to continuing unease among conservatives. It’s probably true that Romney hasn’t received much love from conservative bloggers. Search “Romney” on RedState, a leading conservative blog, and the top three results are: “Mitt Romney as the nominee: Conservatism dies and Barack Obama wins,” “The unelectable Romney” and “Not Romney.” But it’s decidedly not true that Romney has received “balanced or slightly favorable” coverage from “traditional news organizations.” A study published mid-January by the Center for Media and Public Affairs found that Romney got the most negative coverage of any of the Republican candidates on the three network nightly news broadcasts and even Fox News’ “Special Report”: On the broadcast networks, evaluative comments of Romney were 78% negative vs. only 22% positive. By contrast, on-air judgments of Ron Paul were 73% positive vs. 27% negative, evaluations of Jon Huntsman were 71% positive vs. 29% negative, Rick Santorum ’s evaluations were 56% positive vs. 44% negative, and comments about Newt Gingrich were 52% positive vs. 48% negative. Other candidates received too few evaluations to be statistically meaningful. FOX Results  Romney fared slightly better on FOX “Special Report”, than on the networks, with 63% negative vs. 37% positive evaluations. By contrast, Ron Paul fared less well than he did on the networks, with evenly balanced coverage — 50% negative and 50% positive comments. Rick Santorum did best on FOX with 63% positive vs. 37% negative judgments. These were the only candidates who received enough evaluations on FOX for meaningful analysis. This doesn’t take newspapers like the Washington Post and the New York Times into account. But come on. Let’s not kid ourselves.

Wrong, Rove; news coverage of Romney not ‘slightly favorable’

Over at Politico , they point out that the recent happy talk surrounding Obama’s reelection chances are . . . not quite the whole story: To hear Democrats (and much of the media) tell it, President Barack Obama is a man on the rebound… Keep reading this post . . .

Consumer Confidence Almost Back Up to 1980, 1992 Levels

Wayne Allyn Root is a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee and the author of “The Conscience of a Libertarian.” He now serves as Chairman of the Libertarian National Campaign Committee. He is a regular guest on Fox News and hundreds of radio shows across America. He is also a gun-slinging, riverboat gambling, entrepreneur and capitalist evangelist. His web site:  www.ROOTforAmerica.com Here is the speech Obama would give if only he was able to tell the truth: “I know…I know…the State of The Union Is desperate…Frankly, I don’t care. Through my magical stimulus I’ve delivered tens of billions of dollars to my union supporters and made hundreds of my campaign bundlers multi-millionaires. They, of course, kicked back hundreds of millions in contributions to me and my fellow Democrats to make sure we are re-elected, so we can keep the taxpayer money flowing back to them. Don’t ‘ya love it when a plan comes together? “Yes, I know deficits are destroying America. Quite frankly I don’t give a damn. I need to buy votes and there’s no better way than by redistributing wealth from those who vote against me, to those who vote for me. And since the GOP is blocking my tax increases, and even China isn’t dumb enough to lend it anymore, I’ve got Ben Bernanke printing money 24 hours a day. I then shower it on unions, lawyers, lobbyists, Jeffrey Immelt of GE, and my personal favorite scam…green energy. I’m getting re-elected with ‘Obama money!’ So what if your kids and grandkids will be enslaved to high taxes for generations to come…blah, blah, blah. “Of course I know GM and Chrysler are going to go broke –  again . I squeezed out a few more years of bloated salaries and obscene pensions to my union buddies, who will re-pay me with hundreds of millions in contributions just in time for the 2012 election. With those union pension and healthcare obligations, only an idiot could think these companies would actually survive long term. But think of the timing? I stole enough money from taxpayers to keep these corpses alive for a decade. By the time they fail, I’ll be gone. “I know most of you hate Obamacare- TOUGH! Those of you who hate it weren’t going to vote for me anyway. You’ve got to look at what a great scam…I mean plan it is for me. I’ll funnel hundreds of billions to my corporate friends who will, of course, kick back hundreds of millions to my re-election campaign. As a bonus, I get to unionize every health care worker in America! More union dues, more kickbacks, MORE DEMOCRATS! Who says Christmas comes only once a year? “Speaking of my crony friends…how about Warren Buffet? Is he the greatest or what? Humble…caring… a patriot…a benevolent billionaire begging me to raise taxes on the filthy rich. What a scam…er sorry, plan. Everyone listens to a billionaire. He complains to the media about taxes on billionaires and I get to raise taxes on all those Republican small business owners that make $250,000 to $500,000 a year. It’s better than three-card Monte from the streets of Chicago! “Those higher taxes on the upper middle class give me more money to hire more government employees, who will automatically vote Democrat to protect their jobs.  But wait, it gets even better… “All those new government employees will pay union dues- more kickbacks and contributions to Democrats. And we were able to afford it by punishing wealthy voters who vote Republican. They’re paying me to beat  them  for years to come. Even Fidel couldn’t think up anything  this good! “Here’s the best part of Buffet’s scam- he’s already got his $50 billion. Higher taxes don’t affect him one iota and he’s killed the competition. After we cripple them with taxes, they’ll never be able to compete with him. What a guy! “But wait. For helping me raise taxes…I also push all the crippled companies begging for government bailouts like B of A and Goldman Sachs straight to Buffet, who then loans money to them at loan shark terms. All those companies then write big checks to my re-election campaign. Even the Gambino crime family wasn’t this ruthless. “Is this brilliant, or what? Let me say it again about Warren… what a scammer…er, WHAT A GUY! “Now to the most important part of the State of the Union. I know ’green energy’ is the biggest fraud in world history. Do you think I’m a complete idiot? Well, at least the biggest fraud since we made up ‘global warming.’ But we took care of that little mistake. We’ve changed the name to ’climate change.’ That covers us whether it gets hotter or colder. Either way we demonize business so when American manufacturers move jobs offshore to get away from our anti-business scheme, guess who I get to blame?  American business!  Isn’t this country great? “Moreover, I’ve been able to damage the domestic coal and oil business by blaming them for harming the environment. That’s created a boom for the rest of the world to supply us. Oh, I know, most of these other countries support terrorism and hate America. But that’s a small price to pay so Michelle and I can travel the world and be treated like rock stars. “And, as a bonus the U.S. economy has been weakened, making American citizens even more dependent on big government (that’s me). Soon, everyone will be either working for government (me), or collecting a handout from government (me). After that, no one will ever question big government again. “You know what I call 45 million Americans on food stamps? A small start. “You know what I call twelve million illegal aliens? As soon as I pass amnesty, you can call them twelve million Democrat voters. That puts me and my socialist cabal in control of D.C. forever. “Finally, let me be clear…I don’t care about the state of the union. I care about the teachers union, autoworkers union, SEIU, and government employees union. “I get shivers just thinking about Karl Marx and Saul Alinsky looking up at me from hell and smiling. I’ve done what even they thought could never be done. Who said you can’t fool 51% of the people all the time? “God Bless Me and God Bless America.”

Obama: The TRUE State of the Union

We’ve previously reported on Stephen Colbert’s laughable ( yet somewhat alarming ) presence in the 2012 Republican presidential primary. A Tuesday release of paperwork   from his SuperPAC “Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow” to the Federal Election Commission, could suggest that it is perhaps time we take him seriously. Earlier in the month NBC’s Chuck Todd  delivered some harsh comments for the media’s indulgence of Colbert. “He is making a mockery of the system,” Todd said during a panel discussion at Winthrop University. “Yes, the process is a mess, but he‘s doing it in a way that feels as if he’s trying to influence it with his own agenda that may be anti-Republican.” “Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have this ability to want to mock us in the media all the time, claim we don’t do our job, and then when you call them out on it, say ‘we’re just comedians,’” Todd went on to say. “Actually no you’re not anymore. You are mocking what we’re doing, you want a place in this, you’re also going to be held accountable for how you do your job.” The announcement of the $1,023,121 already raised by the SuperPAC, which has been used in the past to fund ads like “Mitt the Ripper,” may provide further credence to Todd’s claim that Colbert’s effect on the campaign is no joke. Prior to the announcement of the over $1 million raised, Colbert spoke about the FEC filing during his show last night: The Colbert Report Get More: Colbert Report Full Episodes , Political Humor & Satire Blog , Video Archive

Colbert SuperPAC donations reach $1 million

“The rosy predictions for revenues and reduced healthcare spending can come to fruition, but not with the current socialist policies as the baseline.” The budget season has officially commenced today with CBO’s release of its annual budget and economic outlook.  Here are some of the major takeaways from the report: FY 2012 Budget The topline figure that the media will focus on is the projected $1.070 trillion budget deficit for FY 2012, down from $1.3 trillion last year.  However, as CBO notes several times throughout the report, the reduction in this year’s deficit is predicated on several assumptions. 1)      Revenues :  The entirety of this year’s deficit reduction comes from higher projected revenues, roughly $220 billion.  CBO is forced to score current law, which assumes that the payroll tax cut will expire at the end of February.  Another 10-month extension, which is almost a forgone conclusion, would cost over $100 billion.  Also, the CBO baseline does not include a likely AMT patch, and extension of many annual “tax extenders,” such as the credit for research and development.  It’s very likely that the extensions will wipe out the entire revenue gain from this year over 2011, thereby eliminating the reduction in the deficit. 2)      Outlays :  CBO is projecting $3.601 trillion in spending, up just $3 billion from last year.  Obviously, this projection does not account for a full-year extension of unemployment benefits and doc fix, which could add as much as $70 billion to this year’s spending total. 3)      Defense :  Outlays for defense will be reduced by another $20 billion. When these factors are accounted for, it is clear that non-defense discretionary spending will not decrease significantly, while mandatory spending will continue to rise.  If you assume the alternative scenario, in which most of the temporary tax and spending measures are extended, the deficit should be about the same as last year; around $1.3 trillion.  In other words, there will be slightly more revenue this year, but increased spending as well. 10-Year Budget Frame: 2013-2022: Over the next 10 years, CBO is projecting $41.179 trillion in spending and $44.251 trillion in revenue, for a deficit of $3.072 trillion.  The $3 trillion figure is a real lowball estimate of our projected debt for several reasons.  Under that scenario, our annual deficits would dip to $450 billion in just two years, and stay below $400 billion indefinitely.  They are assuming rosy pictures of revenue increases, along with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts.  Furthermore, CBO notes, that Medicare and Medicaid spending have always increased above expectations, and with Obamacare taking effect, the real cost of healthcare spending will blow out the budget deficits – way beyond $3 trillion. Another important long-term factor is interest on the debt.  At present, interest rates are at historic lows, but they will eventually revert back to their historic norms.  That could add several trillion more to the 10-year deficit. The rosy predictions for revenues and reduced healthcare spending can come to fruition, but not with the current socialist policies as the baseline. Economic Outlook CBO is projecting more stagnation for the next few years.  For 2012, they are seeing 2% GDP growth and 8.9% unemployment.  For 2013, they are projecting a pullback to just 1.1% growth and a spike in unemployment to 9.2%.  With these bleak economic figures, it’s hard to envision a scenario in which revenues increase substantially and spending on welfare programs decline (as projected by the report).  How can revenues go from 16% of GDP to 20% in just two years, even without the extension of tax cut provisions?  Then again, it’s all a moot point.  Budget deficits tend to be much higher than the figures projected in CBO reports, in part, due to some of the aforementioned factors. Social Security Social Security is, by far, the largest expenditure for the foreseeable future.  This year, SS outlays will top $770 billion, accounting for 21.3% of the entire federal budget for FY 2012.  From 2013-2022, SS spending will top $10.5 trillion, almost 24% of the budget.  On the revenue side, Social Security taxes will only rise $627 billion this year and $8.9 trillion over 10 years.  Once again, this projection does not factor in any future payroll tax cuts. Another noteworthy point is that the Social Security Disability Insurance trust fund will be exhausted in 2016. Remember that the Social Security Trust Fund is a notional accounting gimmick and is nonexistent.  Consequently, every penny of SS benefits that is not covered from the payroll tax will augment our deficit.  The real question is why one quarter of the budget is consumed by a program that should be controlled by the individual.  Why are we bankrupting our future for a program that offers a worse rate of return than private accounts, which would not cost the government and future generations of Americans a penny? Medicare Gross Medicare spending, the second largest domestic spending program, will reach $560 billion this year and $7.8 trillion over 10 years.  Net Medicare spending (subtracting $1.2 trillion in offsetting revenues from premium payments from seniors) will be about $6.55 trillion.   This year’s outlays would have been higher if not for a shift in certain payments from fiscal year 2012 into fiscal year 2011 because the first scheduled date for payments to health plans in 2012 fell on a weekend.  Revenues from the Medicare payroll tax will only bring in roughly $2.8 trillion – and that is including the payroll tax increases under Obamacare.  As such, the Medicare hospital insurance trust fund, which is funded by payroll taxes, will be exhausted in 2022. Now that it is incontrovertibly clear that government has failed at controlling healthcare and retirement costs, is it too much to ask that we allow personal ownership and the free-market to get a bite at the apple? Liberals always complain that seniors will be left to their own devices under our policies.  Judging by the future debt figures, I think we would all rather be on our own, as opposed to shouldering the burden of crushing debt payments.
