Ha! Robert “Porn Guy” Farley (a.k.a “Che”) gets slammed by Althouse. Added bonus is this cached version from the archives: ” Candyass blogger move of all time: Lawyers, Guns & Money bans Meade! ” Cool porn hat too! Added : Ann slaps down LGM in the comments : I don’t like to his blog anymore. I used to go back and forth with them over some things, such as when they attack me. But deleting all Meade’s comments? Fuck them. Turns out LGM’s getting f-bombed all over the place, for example, by R.S. McCain .

More Gutsy Calls From Obama!
Well, it’s been another big day in Egypt. Analysts are all over the place on what happens next. Last night, at Foreign Policy , Robert Springborg wrote that the immediate threat to the regime was over and, ” The chance for democracy in Egypt is lost .” But not so fast, writes Ayaan Hirsi Ali, ” Get Ready for the Muslim Brotherhood .” She adds that it’s “highly likely but not inevitable that the Muslim Brotherhood will win the elections to be held in Egypt this coming September.” Ayann’s essay is perhaps the most perceptive and insightful I’ve read since the crisis began on January 25th. She specifically and succinctly indicates why secular forces are at a disadvantage relative to the Islamists. At any rate, the first clip here includes video of a utility van mowing down protesters in the streets. Content warning, by the way, since it’s quite graphic:

Folks at the fish wrap of record really do need to get out more. See, ” At Rally, Thousands — Billions? — Respond ” (at Memeorandum ). The unwavering message is that the Stewart “Rally for Sanity” was uniquely reasonable, ” a political event like no other.” I wasn’t there. But I’ve live-blogged this event all day, and I’ve gotten lots of information from folks who were on the ground , and obviously NYT has airbrushed the rowdier elements out of their ” Rally for Sanity ” coverage. Especially interesting is the Times ‘ total disregard for the Cat Stevens controversy. And the Los Angeles Times is no better: ” Thousands descend on National Mall for Stewart’s and Colbert’s ‘Sanity’ rally .” I’ve noted this a couple of times already, but some big guns are picking up the story, and it’s clear the Jon Stewart badly miscalculated by inviting Yusuf Islam to the event. See Ed Morrissey, for example, ” Fatwa-endorsing singer featured at “Restoring Sanity” rally? ” It’s all over the place. But it’s a pre-election weekend, and we’ll hear more chatter about the wonderful Stewart-Colbert “moderation” on the Sunday talk shows. Not discussed will be the super well-represented profanity, misogyny, vulgarity, and leftists wishing death to conservatives . No, that wouldn’t fit the narrative too well.

I couldn’t pass this up. The main story’s at Politico , with a lengthy thread now building at Memeorandum . The best part is how the lefties are all over the place on this. An outraged Melissa McEwan slams the Democratic Majority Leader, for example: Oh, well, as long as he praised her for her work, then it’s totally fine that he SEXUALLY OBJECTIFIED A SITTING US SENATOR. The Democrats want my support, my money, and my votes. They constantly assert to be the party that values women and women’s issues. And yet their Senate Majority Leader publicly humiliates a fellow Democrat by commenting on her “hotness” at a fundraising event, and then sends out his spokesperson to argue with a straight fucking face that it’s not inappropriate. I just…wow. I probably wouldn’t put it in so many words, but I doubt I could get away with calling some of my female colleagues the “hottest” members of the department. Thus it’s pretty hilarious that TPM’s going to bat for Senator Reid: It should be noted that Gillibrand was in fact recently declared number three on The Hill’s Top 50 Most Beautiful People list — and neither of the top two are members of the Senate. So logically speaking, this would make her the hottest member of the Senate according to a major Washington publication. So objectifying New York’s junior senator as a “hottie” is totally cool then. Hey, a “major Washington publication” says she’s hot, so let’s just follow the drill at a party fundraiser. Got it. Meanwhile, Weasel Zippers removes the, er, blinders:

Obama actually had the correct posture early on in his presidency regarding North Korea, which was to ignore the provocations and histrionics of the country and Kim Jong Il. However, he learned that being president is hawd! work, especially between vacations and golf, and his policy started to be all over the place, to the
