I posted on this previously, and now here’s the video: And see also Mark Levin, ” Character Matters and Romney’s Worries Me “: I am beginning to think that the nature and level of attacks being launched by Mitt Romney against Newt Gingrich, which he would surely use against any conservative threatening his nomination, are going to make it very difficult for Romney to unite the different factions of the GOP and the conservative movement behind his candidacy should he win the nomination.

AP – Just how rich is Mitt Romney? Add up the wealth of the last eight presidents, from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. Then double that number. Now you’re in Romney territory.

Midnight snacks 11.11.11

Your midnight snacks were posted at 11:11 p.m. on 11/11/11. Make a wish. And it better be good: Cindy McCain isn’t ready to count any of the Republican candidates out. The technical name for Rick Perry ‘s Porkey Pig moment is ““retrieval failure.” The 1 percent : Michael Moore ‘s cozy little mansion cabin. ‘No comment’ from Anita Hill regarding Herman Cain ‘s joke today. Richard Nixon was sassy in his grand jury testimony. Tweet of the night (brotherly love):

**Written by Doug Powers Today President Obama is filing papers in order to seek re-election in 2012. That’s not surprising, but what is surprising is that some in the media are saying they’ve decided to actually cover what Obama says as opposed to just getting all tingly about how he says it. Among them, Roger Simon from Politico. Transcript from Newsbusters : HOWARD KURTZ, HOST: Roger Simon, are the journalists and the anchors we just saw now aggressively challenging and acting openly skeptical about the Obama policy in Libya? ROGER SIMON, CHIEF POLITICAL COLUMNIST, POLITICO: Yes, and that’s a good thing. We’re supposed to be openly skeptical. The bloom isn’t entirely off the rose between Obama and the press, but reporters are starting to concentrate more than ever on what he says rather than how he says it . We will stipulate that he’s the greatest orator of modern times, but now we’re looking beyond that in every speech for what he’s actually telling us. Obama announced his bid for the presidency in February of 2007, so it’s only been more than four years. The media needs time to pace themselves. Besides, in 2008 Simon & friends were too busy digging into Sarah Palin’s qualifications to be a heartbeat away from the presidency to worry about sorting through Obama’s qualifications to be president. Especially enjoyable is the part in the above interview where Simon essentially said, “We’re going to get back to basics and not be so biased — hey, did I mention that Obama’s the greatest orator in modern times?” Greatest orator? Really ? If the mainstream media had been in Richard Nixon’s lap as much as they’ve been in Obama’s, we’d still be about ten years away from finding out about Watergate. **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

No Way: Media Considering Vetting Obama Heading Into 2012?

**Written by Doug Powers Time Magazine’s spin on this might be that Reagan and Obama are tied for first, because as you know, aside from their views on big government, national defense, abortion, appeasement and wealth transfer, they’re virtually indistinguishable . Here’s the full list : 1. Ronald Reagan (19%) 2. Abraham Lincoln (14%) 3. Bill Clinton (13%) 4. John F. Kennedy (11%) 5. George Washington (10%) 6. Franklin Roosevelt (8%) 7. Barack Obama (5%) 8. No opinion (5%) 9. Theodore Roosevelt (3%) 10. Harry Truman (3%) 11. George W. Bush (2%) 12. Thomas Jefferson (2%) 13. **Jimmy Carter (1%) 14. Dwight Eisenhower (1%) 15. George H. W. Bush (1%) 16. Other(1%) 17. None (1%) 18. Andrew Jackson (0%) 19. Lyndon Johnson (0%) 20. Richard Nixon (0%) **Carter poll results have a margin of error of plus or minus Hamas Here’s how it broke down along party lines: After the hype of 2008 and 2009, would you have thought that within a couple of years Democrats would choose two other presidents from their party as greater than Barack Obama? **Written by Doug Powers Twitter @ThePowersThatBe

Gallup Poll: And the Greatest US President of All Time Is…

As the Obama administration welcomes a number of former Clinton administration officials — including new White House chief of staff William Daley and National Economic Council director Gene Sperling — conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh warned listeners Friday of the return of Clinton-era “crony capitalists.” “Everybody wants this,” Rush noted, referring to the mainstream media. “The purpose of this is to create for everybody else a public impression of moderation. The Socialist-Marxist Obama finally realizing that he can’t get where he wants to go that way. He has to triangulate; he has to go to the center.” (Click for more on William Daley and Gene Sperling .) Rest easy, Rush. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley swore Thursday that his brother’s appointment to be President Obama’s new chief of staff did not represent a “Chicago mafia” in the White House. “(President George W. Bush) brought people from Texas. John F. Kennedy brought people from Massachusetts. Richard Nixon brought people from California,” Daley said. “Ronald Reagan brought people from California. Jimmy Carter brought people from Georgia. Bush brought people from Texas. Clinton brought people from Arkansas.” “There’s nothing wrong with that,” Daley said.

A bit of interesting perspective from Gallup : “Of the nine U.S. presidents who have served in the past 50 years, John F. Kennedy continues to earn the highest retrospective job approval rating from Americans, now 85%. Ronald Reagan ranks second, with 74%. While these presidents' ratings are

AP – A determined Republican stall campaign in the Senate has sidetracked so many of the men and women nominated by President Barack Obama for judgeships that he has put fewer people on the bench than any president since Richard Nixon at a similar point in his first term 40 years ago.
