AP – Preliminary results of an entrance poll shows Nevadans participating in today’s caucuses were focused on the economy and which candidate could best defeat Obama. The deeply conservative electorate included the largest share of tea party backers and the highest number of Mormons of any state to cast ballots thus far in the nomination contest.

When news broke yesterday of “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius ‘s death, many people paid homage to the show and Cornelius for helping move black entertainment into the mainstream. Al Sharpton sort of did that on his MSNBC show last night. He called Cornelius “one of the coolest, hippest hosts on TV.” There’s no doubt if Cornelius were alive today, he’d say the same of Sharpton, though resist he much might . But he also marked the somber occasion by showing an old clip from when he himself was on “Soul Train.” In the clip, a 19-year-old Sharpton presents an award to the late James Brown . Same hair.
