I put “pro-sharia” in quotation marks since you’d have to be a Muslim extremist to favor sharia law over Western constitutionalism. But there’s some big debate on Rick Perry’s warm ties with the Aga Khan organization, which apparently funds some kind of Islamic awareness education program in Texas. And earlier I saw this big write-up at Bare Naked Islam, but didn’t pay too much attention: ” Don’t know if there’s any truth to the rumor that Rick Perry’s daughter is married to the Muslim son of the Aga Khan…but there sure is a lot of information out there about Perry’s Islamo-pandering in Texas as well as his not having a problem with construction of a tower of terror in the form of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque in NYC .” Anyway, I also saw Pamela Geller writing about all of this earlier as well, and now here’s this: ” PAMELA GELLER IN THE AMERICAN THINKER: SMEARING GELLER ON PERRY .” Lots of information so follow the links. As I noted last week, Rick Perry’s been under the radar and Americans are just now learning about him, which is the purpose of political campaigns. But Islam in America is largely driven by a subtererranean supremacy agenda that you won’t learn about in the terror-coddling press. And if Perry turns out to be the GOP field’s Grover Norquist, then I’ll campaign against him aggressively. Expect updates.

Is Rick Perry ‘Pro-Sharia’?
Richard Haass , President of Council on Foreign Relations, asks Imam Rauf , “why don’t you undo” the damage you’ve done with your plans to build the victory mosque? Watch the Imam evade and prevaricate. He doesn’t even entertain the notion of relocating the mosque, and thus shows once more that he has no interest in bridge-building. It’s all a scam in the name of jihad (full video at the link ): O’Reilly picks it up from there: Also, great discussion from this morning’s Fox & Friends: More at NYT ( FWIW ), ” ‘Everything Is on the Table,’ Imam Says of Plans .” Turns out the Imam has conceded the possibility of a move, but of course this is in the context of once again attacking critics of the mosque as “radicals.” Also at New York Post , ” Ground Zero mosque imam ‘saddened to the core’ .”

Imam Rauf at Council on Foreign Relations
I don’t know, but my guess is that Victory Mosque supporters aren’t thinking too carefully about their viewpoints. Scroll forward to about 3:20 minutes at the clip. That’s Imam Dawoud Kringle debating Andrew McCarthy on Fox Business Channel. Imam Kringle twists and turns when David Asman asks him if “Hamas is a terrorist organization?” All folks have to do is check the Hamas Charter to understand the goals of these fanatics. The tide is turning against the leftist-Islamist alliance. Imam Rauf and Daisy Khan have been exposed and their backers debunked and repudiated. Most of all the despicable JournoList national media has once again disgraced itself. We no longer have even a shred of an objective press today in the United States. Where one finds decent, fact-based reporting, free of bias, that’s something to hold up to kudos and emulation. But we have to keep up with the fight. The tide is turning.
Bad enough that our liberal rulers support the obscene Victory Mosque at Ground Zero with mealy-mouthed platitudes about “building bridges.” Worse that the State Department is paying (with our money) Feisal Abdul Rauf, the stridently anti-American imam behind it, to travel around the Middle East, evidently to collect money to construct the abomination. But it

Another poll finding roughly two-thirds of Americans against a Victory Mosque at Ground Zero: Now 62% oppose the building of a mosque near where the World Trade Center stood in Lower Manhattan, compared to 54% in the previous survey. Twenty-five percent (25%) favor allowing the mosque to go ahead, and 13% more are not sure. Sixty-eight percent (68%) of the Political Class, however, favor building the mosque near Ground Zero. Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Mainstream voters are opposed. Since the July survey, the local New York City zoning debate over the planned 13-story Cordoba mosque has escalated into a national controversy. It has even been addressed by President Obama, who supports the building of the mosque in the name of religious tolerance. Opponents of the project, including many who lost loved ones in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, see the mosque as a deliberate provocation that dishonors the memories of the 3,000 people who died that day. In mid-July, most voters in New York (58%) opposed the building of the mosque near Ground Zero. Twenty percent (20%) supported it, and 21% were undecided. And yet leftists continue to claim they’re the compassionate, enlightened ones. Talk about “the political class.” It’s pretty much the extreme left-wing and its jihadi allies who support this thing. Most regular folks see this as an affront to decency at least, if not another foot in the door to sharia.
